Chi-Ling

 

Chi Ling Chan

Founder of the EquiTech Collective and Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Institute

Chi Ling is Founder of the EquiTech Collective and Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Institute, under the Atlantic Fellowship for Health Equity in Southeast Asia. She was formerly Deputy Director at Open Government Products, Govtech Singapore. Between 2020 and 2022, she concurrently served as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Health (Information Technology and Data Group) and Smart Nation Digital Government Group (Special Projects). Prior to that, she served in the Singapore public service in various roles within the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Health, and GovTech. During her time with the Ministry of Health, she helmed portfolios in manpower planning and financing for the community care sector. Amidst COVID-19, she led a team to launch the Singapore Healthcare Corps, which recruited healthcare volunteers to augment the healthcare workforce as part of crisis response. In late 2020, she led the formation of a healthcare technology sandbox within Ministry of Health and Open Government Products (OGP) to modernise healthcare technology systems with a software product team. She served as Product Manager for the National Appointment System for Singapore’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout (vaccine.gov.sg), antigen rapid testing registration systems, the COVID-19 management backbone, and Sync, a product for sharing of test and vaccination records. Beyond Singapore, she supported bilateral technology exchanges between Singapore and Vietnam, and played an advisory role for their digital transformation initiatives. Outside of her professional roles, Chi Ling serves on the Digital Board Committee for the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, and volunteers as Chief Operating Officer for Better.sg, a charity she co-founded in 2019 to supercharge volunteer-led tech-for-good projects to address societal issues. For her work in the public and people sectors, she was recognized as a recipient of the Singapore Computer Society 100 Women in Technology in 2021.

Simon Kemp

Founder and CEO of Kepios

Simon Kemp helps the world make sense of what people are really doing online. Every year, millions of people in more than 240 countries read his widely acclaimed Global Digital Reports series, which he publishes in partnership with We Are Social and Meltwater.

Simon is the founder of Kepios, a management consultancy, and chief analyst at DataReportal. He also advises and collaborates with a number of the world’s most progressive marketing services organisations. Over the past 20 years, Simon has helped to define brand and marketing strategies for many of the world’s most admired companies, including Unilever, Google, Coca- Cola, Nestlé, and Diageo, and he continues to advise the world’s top marketers and investors on the latest trends in global digital behaviours. In addition to his research and consulting work, Simon also delivers regular guest lectures for leading academic institutions around the world.

Prior to starting Kepios, Simon was Regional Managing Partner for We Are Social in Asia, before which he worked at BBH, Universal McCann, Starcom Mediavest, and Accenture.

Outside of work, Simon is a huge electronic music nerd, and he also runs the Singapore Whisky Society. You can find Simon across most of the internet as ‘eskimon’.

Juanita Neville-Te Rito

With more than 30 years commercial retail and CX experience and 15 years in global retail trend analysis, fully-fledged Kiwi, Aussie-born Juanita is the founder and Managing Director of RX. Previously known as RetailX, the evolution of the business to RX acknowledges that in today’s hyper-competitive environment, experience is fast becoming the defining differentiator for businesses of every shape and size, regardless of the industry. 

RX is the second retail consultancy Juanita has founded and as such, she has worked with the majority of leading retail brands in NZ. Prior to consulting, Juanita held C-Suite executive management roles for companies including Countdown and  Woolworths supermarkets, The Warehouse Group, Noel Leeming and Yum Brands (Pizza Hut, KFC).
Juanita has extensive experience in retail strategy, communication and business transformation and is also a frequent media commentator, international speaker, and opinion leader within NZ. Her popular international retail and CX tours are eagerly anticipated by businesses around the globe wanting to deliver a compelling customer-centric proposition, whatever the industry.

With an unerring energy and enthusiasm, Juanita is passionate about raising the bar by creating experiences that connect with shoppers’ hearts, minds, and wallets, through reimagining businesses and their offers to become more compelling, hyper-competitive, engaging and most importantly, profitable.

Rose Tong is currently serving as a key member of the Singapore Retailers Association. With over two decades of experience in the field, Rose has established herself as a skilled strategist and visionary, playing a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the retail sector in Singapore. She is known for her passion for innovation and her ability to navigate complex challenges, helping retailers to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing landscape. Rose is also deeply committed to supporting local businesses and fostering collaboration within the industry. Her leadership has earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and peers alike.

Gordon Nugent

Regional Head of Online - Asia Pacific at HP

I am a hands on retailer, with digital marketing & eCommerce skills across multi-site stores and regions. Roles within retail, sales, franchises, national operations, project management and digital / eCommerce / Multichannel has given me a wealth of experience, not only with face to face customer interactions but logistics and operations across 200 multi-site retail stores. I have managed field sales teams, call centers and National Account Managers with our annual targets of $850M+. Recently I managed a team of >100 staff focused on developing, implementing, marketing and running the eCommerce websites including working with digital agencies, conversion rate optimisation, customer service, merchandising and logistics for one of Australia’s largest retailers covering the Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne brands. I am a true retailer of both physical stores and online - end to end I am actively involved in the eCommerce community attending and/or speaking at events and conferences around the world. I have successfully launched over 10 ecommerce stores across 10 countries.

Chris is currently the Director of Consumer Engagement & E-Business at Moet Hennessy Asia Pacific (LVMH). He is a member of Moet Hennessy’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee, Marketing Leadership Team and heads up the regional Centre of Excellence.
