How Does iMedia Summits Share the Information?
Sharing With Your Consent
We only share personally identifiable information when you have given your consent or when required by law or for operational purposes.
Sharing Contact Details and Networking Consent
By registering for iMedia Summits events and using our event app, you consent that your contact details — including your name, email address, company, and job title — may be shared with other event participants such as sponsors, networkers, retail, and marketing delegates only when you accept their connection requests via the event app.
This process ensures you control who can access your contact information. When you accept a connection request, you authorise the sharing of your details with that individual, enabling event-related networking and communication.
Sponsors and networkers who receive your contact details through this connection may use the information to contact you for marketing and relationship management relevant to their products, services, or event participation. They are required to comply with applicable privacy laws and provide you with clear methods to opt out of their marketing communications.
If you do not consent to this form of data sharing, you may choose not to accept connection requests or refrain from participating in networking features. Your participation in other event activities will not be affected by your choice.
Additional Sharing Scenarios
Aggregate Information
We may share aggregated, de-identified information with our partners, advertisers, and other third parties for marketing, research, or analytics purposes. This information does not identify individual users.
Your Options and Rights
Mobile App Data and Privacy
All registration information you provide is treated with strict confidentiality and protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws in Australia and New Zealand.
Your event profile includes only the information you voluntarily enter during setup (such as your name, company and job title). This profile information is visible exclusively to other event attendees within the iMedia app platform.
The event app directory enables attendees to connect and contact each other directly through the iMedia app and the one-to-one meeting system. Your email address and phone number will only be shared with another delegate if you explicitly authorise it by either initiating or accepting a connection request within the app.
By accepting a connection request, you provide express consent for your contact details to be shared with that specific attendee. Sponsors, networkers, or other third parties who receive your contact information through the app may contact you for marketing or relationship management purposes. They are legally required to comply with privacy laws and must provide you with clear options to opt out of future communications.
iMedia Summits does not sell, rent, or disclose your personal information to any third parties outside the event app environment without your explicit, informed consent.
You retain full control over who can access your personal contact information via the connection acceptance mechanism in the app. You also have the right to request access to your personal information, request corrections, or withdraw consent by contacting iMedia Summits support.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted prominently on our website and app, and affected users will be notified by email where appropriate.
