Michael serves as the Regional Head of Privacy (APAC) at SHEIN, where he leverages his expertise to provide strategic and practical solutions for navigating international privacy regulatory requirements. His experience includes over a decade of advising on privacy laws and implementing privacy programs across a broad range of industries, from technology and healthcare to telecommunications and handphone manufacturing.

Michael's passion for data privacy led him to transition from General Counsel positions to become the International DPO at Xiaomi. In this global role, he covered some 80 countries, providing consultative guidance on privacy and AI regulations, supporting Xiaomi's wide range of businesses/products and advance into smart EVs and AI. 

Michael is a dual-qualified lawyer in both Singapore and Australia, with more than 15 years in the legal field.
